Lucy set it up in 2012 but has failed to make any cash in the last few years — and there was only £673 in the company’s bank account in October.

The fitness star was promoting her clothing range on Instagram as recently as Christmas, in what appears to have been a last-ditch attempt to improve on the slow sales.

At first, Lucy had a store in the Essex town of Brentwood. But it shut down in 2018, meaning customers could only get their hands on her clobber online.

A source close to Lucy claimed: “Lucy has decided to sell the business and take a consultancy role as running it alongside her other venture was taking it’s toll.

“Working 13 hour day while heavily pregnant was just proving too much for her and she wanted to take time to prepare for her new arrival.

“She backs Lucy’s Boutique and still has members of her family working there.”

She is not the only one to have been hit by the Towie curse.

Joey Essex had to shut his clothing store, also in Brentwood, after failing to “fit in” and Chloe Sims closed her Beauty Bar in March after five years in the same town.

According to records held at Companies House, Robert Finnerty is the only listed director of Lucy’s Boutique as of January 4.

Despite being in the red, it is still selling dresses for as little as £25, and bras for £28.

Blurb on the site reads: “Lucy’s Boutique is now a very established brand in the Fashion industry.

“Lucy first started the business in 2011. We are very proud of what we have achieved over the years, only hoping to get stronger and better and mainly focusing online.”

The ex-reality star is engaged to former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas and they are expecting their first child together.

Lucy now appears to be focusing on her wellness website, called Results With Lucy, instead.

I asked for a comment from Lucy’s representatives but they have not got back to us yet.
